History Club Beautification

We want to bless our community, starting right where we are. One way we bless the history club is by planting annuals in the planters in front of the building.

This is a great Sunday for this, since it is Rogation Sunday. We’ll also spend some time outdoors praying for local industry and agriculture.

What is catechism? It is a summary of the principles of Christian religion in the form of questions and answers, used for the instruction of Christians. We’re launching family catechism to assist our parents in the discipleship of their children. We want everyone who calls Resurrection home to know what they believe and why they believe it. We hope this equips parents to have fruitful discussions between sessions. All are welcome to join us for these sessions.

On Sunday, September 7 at 5 PM we will hold a joint service of lessons and carols with Christ our Hope Anglican Church at the history club. This service features a series of readings and songs that tell the story of Jesus from promise to promise fulfilled.

The ninth reading at our service concludes with this great declaration, 'And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth'. The whole service leads us towards this great sentence: a sentence that invites us to remember that the one who created us does not stand aloof from our suffering, but shares it with us and somehow transforms it into peace of heart and mind, and an attitude of kindness towards others.

We are a church who values the practice of hospitality. In our individual lives we want to embrace outsiders and show them the love of Christ. On Halloween we’ll gather at the history club to offer the warmth of a fire pit as well as the warmth of our relational hospitality. We’ll also hand out candy and hot apple cider.
